Hertz, Heathrow Airport
Improving the customer journey at one of the UK's busiest airports.
The Brief
Having previously delivered multi-site signage projects for Hertz, Greens were briefed to deliver a comprehensive sign project for its Heathrow Airport branch, improving customer navigation and creating a modern, welcoming environment from arrival through to collection.
Spanning a large operational site, the project required a wide range of external signage and graphics, all delivered while working within Heathrow Airport's strict operational procedures and security requirements.
The Solution
Our in-house teams manufactured and installed canopy and gantry signage, illuminated flex face signs and a bespoke feature window graphic for the customer reception area.
This was a significant project, comprising more than 500 metres of aluminium signage, almost 150 square metres of flex faces, and 67 metres of digitally printed window graphics, with the unique challenges of forecourt signage projects: strict safety requirements and operational constraints demanding careful planning throughout.
The bespoke double-layer, two-tone window graphic, inspired by London's skyline, was developed specifically for the reception area where the design needed to achieve several objectives: create a striking feature, reinforce the Hertz brand, maintain outward visibility and reduce glare for customer service staff.
Achieving this required extensive research and development, with our team carefully balancing transparency, colour density, thermal performance and visual impact to deliver the client's vision.
The Result
The completed project transformed the customer experience at Hertz Heathrow, providing clear wayfinding and impactful branding throughout the site while meeting the operational demands of one of the world's busiest airports.
The bespoke window graphic was recognised at The Sign Industry Awards 2025, where it received the Best Window Graphics award.
The award is a testament to the innovation, technical expertise and attention to detail demonstrated by the Greens team, showcasing our ability to solve complex design challenges while delivering practical, high-performance signage solutions.
