Thomas the Baker, Helmsley

The Brief

Thomas the Baker's Helmsley store is a stand-out project among our work for the brand - it's where it all began for the bakers and still sits as their flagship location across their sprawling estate.

To celebrate the Baker's homeplace, we were briefed to take the signage further than the standard guidelines we follow for store signage. 

This store was to have a unique offering, with a deli and butchers included within the bakery, which should be reflected across the historic exterior.

The Solution

To complement the historic setting and abide by the authority's conservation area restrictions, we crafted fret-cut aluminium signs with a rust-effect finish, in keeping with the building's age and quaint charm. This included a butcher sign installed to the brickwork on locators and a silhouette-effect projection sign.

Across existing fascias, we installed digitally printed vinyl in keeping with the existing store estate.

The Result

Following this project, Thomas the Baker's Helmsley location still sits in pride of place as their flagship branch and features on the company's website as part of its history.
