M&S Food
Refurbishing M&S Food stores across their hospital estate.
The Brief
We’ve been working with M&S to refurbish its existing M&S Food units in hospitals, with 12 sites completed to date.
To meet the retailer’s high-end store specifications, the signage combines a range of materials and illumination techniques to create depth and texture while maintaining consistency across the estate.
The Solution
The main fascia signage at each site features stainless-steel letters mounted onto an internally illuminated acrylic panel.
To achieve a distinctive reeded effect, we vertically channel-milled the frosted clear Perspex using our CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machine, adding texture and depth to the fascia. We fabricated the letters from stainless steel, then sanded and finished them with a matt black powder coating for a premium appearance.
Additional built-up letters feature throughout the stores and, at some locations, externally. These incorporate matching matt black returns, with face-illuminated opal acrylic panels.
The interiors are completed with flat-cut Foamex lettering and a range of digitally printed elements, including lightbox graphics, printed vinyl and wallpapers.
The Result
Our attention to detail throughout manufacture and installation has helped transform M&S Food units across the hospital estate, creating a distinctive, high-end finish consistent with the retailer’s brand.
M&S has celebrated the reopening of several refurbished stores on social media, showcasing the finished environments and the collaborative effort behind their transformation.
We’re proud to continue supporting M&S’s hospital-based retail estate, bringing together our in-house expertise to deliver consistent quality across every site.
